Message: Has anyone tried a throttle body spacer on their 3.9? I have a 99 sport and I hear a lot about the v8 throttle body but I was wandering if there's anyone out there who have tried a TB spacer.....Thanx...

Message: On the 3.9 very little effect due to the design of the intake manifold.

Message: In fact, it has no effect. Waste of money and time. These work
on cars that have their gas and their air injected from the
throttle body. Our Dakotas have the fuel injected directly into
the combustion chamber. Adding a spacer basically lengthens
the runners that the air has to flow through which is useless.

Message: I know on my 99', I got some extra performance and fuel mileage out of the tb spacer and tornado insert combined... More than I really was expecting actually... I got around 2 to 3 more mpg and quite a bit more get up and go out of the butt dino, but a lot on here will say other wise:// Maybe it was just me or my truck... Who knows... I did get both of mine from ebay really cheap and they aren't the ussual ones that you buy from the different ussual companies out there... Their suppost to be a newer design or something like that... Who really knows...
I did have to take the tb spacer off due to hood clearance issues with my new holley tb... I have my old fully torque step removed and ported tb for sale along with the tb spacer, but it'll have to wait until I get my truck back together and can make sure everything seals off if you want both of them... My tb has also had the air horns removed, but ported out to where the intake ports almost come together in the center... You may just want to modify your stock one this way since it's my understanding that the stock ported and polished one will flow better than the stock v8 one... Hope this will help a little...

Message: I too got a spacer off of ebay...not the typical.airaid type..but different one ..has the swirl in it but doesnt give the whistle noise through the intake. I did notice some more pull through the high rpm's.But seems like everyones dak reacts different to different things. Even though you say the fuel is directed righ into the chamber..i still think the swirl of the air helps make a better burn.
just my .02

Message: NOTE: The injectors are located behind the intake valves not in the combustion chamber.
