Subject: 98 Dak cold idle and mpg problems IP: Logged
Message: my 98 dak has an occasional problem with idling after starting. once it runs a couple of minutes it is fine. The exhaust also smells very rich when this happens. Since this has been happening I have noticed a slight loss of power and my mpg have dropped from around 23 to about 16 if I'm lucky. If anyone has any suggestions it would be a great help.

Message: How many miles on your truck. Sound like a bad o2 sensor before the cat. When was thelzst time a tuneup was done.

Message: thanks for the replies. where is the best place to buy o2 sensors? Also, my truck has just over 100k miles and has had minimal maintence other than regular trips to the quick lube. what should I be replacing or at least checking at this point. What would a full tune up cost, and who can be trusted to do it well? Thanks again for your help.
