Allright I'm sure there's been plenty of these questions in the past so try not to get too mad at me for not having the time to look up all of the archives including these subjects... When I got my new crank sensor it had really thin metal where the old one was about 1/4" plastic with metal inserts... So does this thickness matter??? I'm not going to grab or get humg up on something when I put this one in without spacers am I??? AND with the 3/8" slotting for the timing advance... This will obviously go all the way through past the outer edge making more or less nothing but an open slot where the holes should be... Will this matter when I go to bolt it back down as far as the bolts not being able to hold on to enough???

Thanks for everything,
Greg

use a washer on the bolt

The newer style replacement sensor $50 has a
solid steel top that is eaier to mod.

Just catch a drill on the bushings and it will
spin, let it spin in the sensor and push on it.

It will heat up and come out, now a file from
there and use a wsher but do not over tighten
and break the ends off just tight not cranked down

So use a washer to space up the bolt to where the bolt doesn't bottom out to where you can't tighten down the sensor and keep it from moving or to space up the sensor to original height so nothing hit it and breaks it???

I got # 56027871 ($69.36) with the all metal top coming up out of the plastic sensor part if this makes any difference...

Thanks Again,
Greg

just slot the holes remove the rubber grommet
use 2 washers on the bolts and move down towards
the oil filter and tighten it will not hit
anything

the all steel top is eiser to mod than the old
style with bushings

get yourself a good round rat tail file mount
it by the top in a vice and file slot 1 side at
a time

don't clamp in vice near the plastic sensor or
you will damage it

You can try it but if you get piston ping you
will need to back off the timing

I would also use the reg 3923 plug gaped at .035
with the nitrious

75 shot you may be ok
100 would be pushing it with more timing all you
can do is try all trucks react differant to the
same mods

Larry, I cut out my crank senor 3/8 as advised by you and krc put it back in the engine, slid it down towards the oil filter "with no washers" and tightened it down good and tight, with no problems... Should I take it back out and space it up with some washers, or is there anything to worry about here... Everything looks fine, but I don't wont to go to crank it up and all of a sudden the crank sens hit something and break off...

Thanks for everything,
Greg

Larry, I noticed you were back, so I was just wondering what you thought about the above... Do I need to take it back out and space it up or just leave it alone...

No sensor will be fine, the bushings are just
there so you dont crush it while tightening.

98 and up superchips tunner

96 97 nothing, Jet 2 little perf gain but does
help gas mileage
92 95 V6 perf comp if you can find 1
