Message: those spacers do NOT work on our vehicles, maybe on others but not Dodge Dakotas, we get our gas injected directly into the combustion chamber not at the tb

Message: I've got a 99' Dak sport 3.9. I've put 40 series flowmasters and an airaid intake. Whats the best V8 tb to put on next? And how much HP should I expect as well as overall changes to what I'm driving now? Thanx ~J~

Message: Good - V8 tb from a 96+ dakota (5.2 or 5.9L)
Better - Fastman tb (modified V6)
Best - F&B (modified V6)
The v8 tb my cause a slight loss in low end torque...or it'll stay the same, but you will gain in the upper rpm's.
The other two will have gains all over...

Message: brad,
I still have my stock v6 cuz I'm too poor to afford any mods at the moment...but I'm hoping to save up and buy an F&B in the near future. Not sure if it'll happen, but it's what I'm hoping to do.

Just go buy a new gaskit take your throttle body
off and remove the torque step.
It does wonders off idle and low end gains and
also helps all the way up.
Here is a thread with pics, you can go to a
hardware store and get some sanding drums for
your drill, you can remove the step without taking
it apart but do need to remove the sensors and
clean it good when done.
320 than 500 sand paper and finish polish with
fine steel wool
Just remove the step above the throttle plates
and angle the entry to the plates back a little
and remove the air horns.
Its a very noticeable diff your off idle and low
end will be a lot stronger and cheap to do
http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/v6/6100.html
These pics are the first one I ever did in 1996
I figured this would help, its a 42 that had
40mm steps on my 4X4 95 and it made a big diff
even at crusing speed more power
You would be increasing the flow 4mm 2 per side
They came with 3 diff bodies
42 40mm step mostly 4X4
44 42mm step 2 wheel auto mostly
The rare 46mm 44 step on mostly 5 speed for a
few years I had a 94 5 speed dak sport 2 wheel
and it had the big TB 3.55 sure grip and was one
of the snappiest daks around back in 94 I had it
new, nice truck hard on tires and hard to take
off on corners in town without squeling the tires
I wish I still had that truck

Message: Hmmm...I'll try that maybe this spring...I'm gonna find me a used v6 tb to buy and use that cuz if I screw up, I'd prefer to have my original as a backup.

I have a garage full of backup stock parts
customers want to keep but not to clutter up there
own garages but for the less fortunate individual
who does not have a garage, I guess I am doing
them a favor.
The worst is the pile of stock exhaust manifolds
now if I were to be dishonest and a thief I
could sell all of the parts and make a few bucks
but I would not do that
I have exh manifolds with dates from the 1960's
in that pile, Its rather large pile
I also have a shelf full of cams for every motor
mopar ever built, slant 6 and V8 including a
few old 392 hemi cams
All bagged with there names on them just in case,
Lots of TB's and stock rockers, I could supply
mopar with those for a 1 day production run
LOL
I am the same way and like to hold on to all my
stock parts.
