Message: Made a lousy 85 the other day @4K RPM. Have 1989 2WD w/ 3.9L V6 4spd auto -no mods ...yet. Around Marysville, Ohio. Everything was vibrating too bad at about 75-80. Didnt have the top end speed or any further acceleration to go any faster. Love to jump in my father's '92 camero. Go about 95 for the heck of it. Ahhh, love that car.

That is nuts in a Dak I rarly take it over 110
about 5500rpm O/D off is 110.
Enought to beat most trucks on the road that
shut down at 90 to 100mph
Made a Big Block Chevy look like an A$$ one day
that was the funniest thing

Just noticed this
Whats up with the 400
stiinc
want to get some better performance get those
+4 plugs out and try some
Autolight AP3923 gaped at .040 .045
Champian Gold plat tip in the 11 heat range
at .040 .045
We are getting noticeable improvements in both
performance and better gas mileage with these 2
plugs
Also index your plugs so that the open end is
between 11 and 1 o'clock towards the intake the
head design swirles the charge right over the
open tip and creates a bigger better flame front
from the squase gas also being forced into the
flat area.
We just got done testing this on 4 trucks and both
performance and gas mileage increases
My 95 4X4 last check 21.2 after indexing pulled
22.7 mpg
Ther other 3 truck owners I asked to experiment
with me on this are also reporting better perf
and gas mileage in the last 2 weeks of running
and the most noticeable thing is it smothes out
the motor at idle and throughout its rpm range
just a smother run.
See I like to test things on more than just 1
truck or you could get un true resaults.
I asked all 3 owners if they wanted me to change
it back and all said no way it has never run
better. That is when I explained what I did and
why and all were pleased with the resaults
The only thing diff is they were all also running
the MSD system, coil, wires, 6a box with the
plugs indexed and gaped at .060
The Champ or The Autolite plugs both performed
identicle as they should
Indexing the plug for the head design does help
in both the V6 and V8 engines even with stock
ign we are seeing resaults from doing this mostly
just a whole new smothness in the running of the
motor with a little better response everywhere
in the rpm range

Message: 110 mph, back country road (logan county ohio)
i decided to back off, the road was starting to get bumpy. taching up pretty high too. (it was still in 3rd) i let off the gas and it went into 4 and was much better i could have stayed on it but running 4k+ rpms for longer than 5 seconds isnt a good idea to me anyways.
v8 tb has almost been completely learned by the pcm (160 miles) i havent ran it higher than 70 since the new tb. i'm giving the comp time to adjust however i have given it a few wot runs, (passing semi trucks) and it seems to have alot more top end.

We could have been late for the movie but on the way there following my friends brand new F-150 I could not let him show me up.
I hit the max speed reading at 110 and kept goin. I stayed right on him.
My friend said we just cleared 115.
Not bad for a pickup hugh.
