The check engine light went on the other day so I had autozone run the code for me. It was p1492 : Ambient or battery temperature sensor voltage wrong. So I went out and got a new BTS and switched it cause the old one actually looked beat up. After the switch the light is still on and I cannot clear the engine code. What else could be wrong? I am not sure on this and really don't feel like bringing it to the dealer that will just hand me the vasaline before they **** me. Any info would be appreciated.

Oh yeah its a 2001 v6 quad cab.

have you tried to clear the code? You can unhook your battery and hold the start switch for about 30 sec. Then hook the battery cable back up. If this does not work go back to autozone and ask them to clear it for you. If this does not work your sensor still may be bad even though its new, no hooked up, or theres some sort of wiring prob else where

I'll give it a shot to take off the battery cables and hold the start switch. IF that don't do it I may have to bring it in to the shop before the dealer cause the dealer sucks and lies too much.

I figured it out. I started tracing wires and found that one of the wires was cut. Hmmmmmm wonder if the dealer had anything to do with that cause the rest of the wires were fine and no signs of rubbing. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

I swear now that my warranty is about up I will do the work from now on. Thoose crooks.
