Message: I plan on getting a larger throttle body for my 2000 3.9L. Who is the best place to go through and what size should I get? Also will any modifications have to be made to my intake manifold?

Message: krc performance is a good company, but you pay for what you get. a 48mm is 400 bucks. and they say not to go over 48mm with a stock motor because it will kill any torque you may have had before. Steve

Message: Well here comes the Fastman vs. F&B vs. junky v-8 TBs on ebay
debate again. I'll take sides right away. Go with the F&B. I got
one when he first made them and it was and is still the single
biggest improvement I've ever done to my truck. You can
REALLY feel the difference, not just think you feel the difference.

Message: i put on a v8 tb and didnt have any problems. the v8 tb is a good alternative if you dont want to spend alot of money, $75 vs fastman $250 with $100 core.
i just ported and polished my v8 tb and stuck it on (no i didnt mess with the torque step) the bores are 50mm but the torque step makes it 48mm.
just one note if you use a v8 throttle body you must use a v8 throttle cable or do as i did (drilled out the disk linkage and replaced it with a holley ball stud)

Btw, when you are done with that v6 TB, send it to me. I like them so much, I have one on my V8.

Message: You can do it in 20 minutes. You just need a 1/4" and a 5/16" allen wrench to get the sensors off and unbolt it from the manifold if I remember right. Make sure you snap your throttle cable on good when you are done!

Message: I forgot you will need to modify your air hat to fit on it I bet. I did. Nothing you can't do with a new utility knife. You'll probably also need to do the S bolt thing. Just follow the F&B instructions they are very simple.

Message: Another mark, I don't know about you, but all my sensors require torx wrenches. Also, if you can change out a TB with all the sensors, make an S bolt and modify the airhat in just 20 minutes you are one awsome dude.
