I purchased an intake system for my 1999 3.9 liter dakota (360 intakes.com) ( which is a great company, got the system for half price becuase I tested their new heat shield out), and the system also came with the oh so talked aobut "S-bolt." For some reason i didnt use it and just put the 360 air hat on the stock bolt. but i was now wondering ( since the difference is gas mileage and perforemance was slim, is putting on that S bolt would be the helping cause? Is there otehr thnigs I have to change is it is simply " take out the old and replace with the new?" i am asking because i hear that the origina bolt has a plate that covers the throttle bodies which deffects air flow, yet i dont see how the s-bolt would help this. thanks for your help fellas!

The s-bolt doesn't have the plate...so it won't block that air flow. Probably not a noticeable difference (I didn't notice a change), but when you're like me and don't have money for many mods...it gives ya something to add to the list. It's a simple procedure...remove old bolt, screw in the new.
