Subject: switching a 6bolt hub to a Ram 5bolt IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 Dakota sport and the other day I had to replace a bad front bearing/hub(6bolt) and I noticed that its the same style as the 2000 Ram 1500 wheel bearing/hub(5bolt).
Does anybody know if the Ram wheel bearing/hub would fit on a 2001 Dakota. this would open up a whole new page on after market rims.

Message: you would run into the problem with the rear. YOu have to change the axels to change your bolt pattern and ram's are longer. Unless you find (or make) adapters that will change your bolt patern. The 05 dak's are 5 lug don't know if they are wider though, i know they are longer.

Message: the front hub on a dak is not the same as the front hub on a ram, the ram has adjustable bearings and the dak does not.

Message: What year ram are you talking about? My mom's 02 has a hub-bearing(sealed roller bearing not a tapered bearing). I work on them quite regularly and see that most newer have hub bearings not adjustable.
