Subject: Ticking exhaust! IP: Logged
Message: Well the other day my engine started to make a lot of ticking noise....it has always done this but i saw nothing wrong...well this weekend it got a lot louder.....well i opened the hood and couldnt find anything for 10 minutes....I started it and listened to his with me opening the TB manually and i found out it was the right side....i had my brother rev it a little longer and found out that i have a broke off bolt in my exhaust manifold....ShIAT! Well anybody know how i can take this out? My father has a few tricks but has to pull off the manifold and that is in his way. What other ways can i take out this broke off bolt?

Message: Mike
Get 2 left hand drills 1 smaller and 1 tap size
drill it small first than go up to size and a lot
of times the broken stud will catch on the drill
bit and screw right out.
Be sure you run the drill in reverse with the left
hand drill bits
Be sure your dad if he has a transfer punch the
right size to mark the center of the stud before
you remove the manifold
Once its off you can take a punch and pick up
the center and punch it better.
That's the most important step getting as close
to center as posible
Good Luck they are a pain had 3 on my 95 2
broke from factory and 1 broke removing them for
the header instalation
It seams every time we do a header instal there
are 1 or 2 bolts that break off but we don't
charge extra labor to repair them we just do it
they take 1/2 to an hour each most times to repair
Also a 90 degree drill will work great for
drilling

Message: Mike
Autozone sells the Bosch sensors for around $60
and we are getting very good resaults with the
bosch o2 sensors
They hold a very good air fuel mixture a very
good sensor for the money, most also start
creating voltage at around 125 135 degree engine
temps and closing the loop a little sooner helps
the gas mileage a lot being in closed loop sooner
They work very well

Message: I did this yesterday to my 94 dakota. get a nut, I think it's a 5/16 and just get a socket and thread it around the bolt with the broken off head, get it on there as much as you can, and then try to unscrew it off the bolt. my nut grabbed on the bolt and I screwed it right out. yeah, I do almost everything the redneck way,
