Subject: 97 V6 coolant leak IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 V6 with 127k miles. It has developed a minor coolant leak from the bottom of the bell housing. There is a slight flare where the engine/trans mate and this is where the leak is from. Just a tablespoon or so in the driveway every day. Any ideas?

Message: I had a leak from about the same area on my 97 and it turned out to be the intake manifold back and just to the left of the distributor. I took a rag and reached back there and it came out wet.

Message: Oh yea, also check the heater hose that runs behind the throttle body for a leak.

Message: No leaks from up there. It seems to be coming from the bottom, where the engine, tranny bolt together.
