I am going to get a v8 throttle body. My concern is that I also just ordered an air intake with an "upgraded" air hat for a v6. Are the throttle bodies a different size in diameter, or is it the ports that make them different. Will the air hat fit the v8 throttle body?

yes same 5 1/8 top size the differance is in the
bore size
V6 came with anything from a 42 to 46mm with a
torque step droping that to 40 to 44mm
The V8 body has 50mm throttle plates with a 48mm
torque step so its 48mm same as bore in manifold

I've heard of shaving off alot of the stuff on the throttle body. What does this do?
