Subject: modified a K&N 1509 to fit an F&B TB???
IP: Logged

Message:
Got an F&B throttle body and just got a K&N FIPK 57-1509
everything seems fine except for that metal collar that seats on
the throttle body. It fits fine on the stock ones but not the F&B
it's a bit too small. Has anyone modified this to work and if so,
how did you do it? I'm debating sawing off the entire metal
collar to fit properly but want to explore all my options before
hand. Thanks

Yes you need to also mod the stock air hats to fit the F&B's

remove what you have to and it will work

Larry,
Do you know if the K&N will work on the Fastman tb without modification?

The K&N unit has a metal collar on the base of it. This collar fits
fine on the stock TB but not the F&B. Part of the collar will sit in
the area where the gasket is and the other part sits lopsided on
the higher up level.
