Subject: OBD-I or OBD-II ?? IP: Logged
Message: I have an '96 3.9L Ram. I am not sure if I have the OBD-I or OBD-II system, but I have heard that with the OBD-II systems, changing things like the IAT sensor position or adjusting the TPS are meaninless because the computer adapts to these changes by reading both the sensor inputs and outputs. So changing a certain input may not have an output effect if the diagnostic system finds operating tables to fit these conditions, it just adapts around them and there is no real way to predict the outcome. If anyone can help me, that would be greatly appreciated. I have heard a lot of success stories about doing these super-cheap "mods," but yesterday I found some negatives (which I tried to explain above) and so now I am confused.
Thanks,
J-Man

Message: Sense change will definitely be better for TPS
need for better response.

just ensures no emission increase

Message: The TPS voltage increase will help with throttle
response and trans reaction time and works on all
the trucks
The IAT relocate is a hit or miss all trucks will
react differant some will benifet and some will not
Its one of those mods you just have to try and
find out
It will add more fuel and timing and the comp will
than adjust the air fuel ratio to the new readings
