Subject: Bosch +4 #4417, instead of #4418 IP: Logged
Message: 99 V6 auto cc 2wd, with all the usual mods:
I found and tried the Bosch +4's #4417, which is one step colder than the #4418's that Bosch specs.
For me, they are awsome. I would say they're in the middle of the 3923's and the 4418's, in terms of reading the plugs condition.
The 3923's were way to cold for my truck, and I hated the way it idled ("surgy"). And overall they were sluggish, ESPECIALLY in the bottom end rpm's.
The 4418's were a major improvment throughout the engines rpm's. But towards the redline, I felt they were "giving up" and were perhaps a little too hot.
So I installed the 4417's and know have the best of both worlds. The engine idles perfect, real nice throttle response in the bottom/mid rpm's and the top end feels perfect with ZERO ping...... ZERO!
And a quick read of the plugs proved what I was feeling.
For me, this is the perfect plug and a great allternate to the 3923's.

Message: I use the same plugs and will agree with you completely! I have never tried the 3923's, so I can not compare with them, but I have tried many others.

Message: My truck idles perfectly smooth on the AP3923's gapped at .048 and has a nice tan color.
