I know that some new cars come with a governor that limits the top rpms and overall performance of new cars in order to properly break in the engine. Then after so many miles (e.g. 5000) the governor is lifted.

Does anyone know if dodge has anything like this ??

I also have a 98 3.9L and I have only been able to get it to 103 at 3000 RMPs. This was on flat groud. I have a superchips power programmer and it did it before I got it and also after. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. It's a automatic tranny. I let it run wide open. it shifted to OD at 4900 and hit 3000 and just sat there. Any idea why?
