Message: I have an after maket radio in my 01 dakota and the radio doesn't shut off when I turn the key off. After like 30 sec it goes off but comes on for a sec then shuts off constanly unless I manually shut it off before I turn the key off. I know I have it wired right and I had it check out by a car audio shop and the headunit and my wire job are fine. The the installer told me he thinks power is building up in the line enough to keep the radio on long enough to keep it on after I shut my truck off and when the radio bleeds off that power it shuts off. The power builds back up enough to turn it back on and it cuts right back off when it its off just not enough to keep it on like it does when I first turn the truck off. What is causing this and what can I do to fix it. As of yet no one has been able to help. The factory radio worked as advertised when I had it in but I couldn't deal with the tape deck anymore. Right now I have an eclipse CD5423. You are kinda my last hope because no one else knows how to fix it.
Thanx

Message: A feed back problem for sure
there is a constant power always on and a on off
the always on is for the clock are they somehow
shorting to each other
while the engine is shutting down and the alt
still turning will do that
it could be a capistor in the radio bleeding down
to slow
could be a lot of things need to start checking
