o2 sensor will adversly effect mileage
recomended replaced 60 to 80,000 miles

Don't know year of your truck

engine temp and IAT can also effect mileage but
do not fail as often as the o2

TPS is the throttle position sensor no cleaning
requiered on that

You must mean the IAC idle air control located on
the back of the throttle body

#20 or #25 torx needed to remove and just spray
the hole in the TB out and the valve off and just
tamp dry with a paper towel or clean rag do
not force or try to turn the valve

When reinstaling put a little grease or oil on the
o ring to asure a good seal

If its sticky you will have a eradic idle or
even a stall situation or a high idle when warm
not returning to the set idle speed quick enough
that is what they will do if dirty or sticking

With the hot coil and the palt tip you can take
those plugs up to .050 .060

I would start at .050 run a hundred miles and take
a look at them, once you tune them in and get them
a nice tan color optimal temp you will have better
performance and gas mileage

It takes a little playing around but well worth
the time it takes

with a stock IGN and the palt tip they run great
right around .045 but with the hotter coil you
can take advantage more with a bigger gap

What it does is create a bigger flame front and a
faster burn giving you more power and better fuel
economy

Hmm...Ok well...i took out the IAC..cleaned it off ..the brass end was completley black...also noticed the top of the butterflies was real dirty too....soo i sprayed some carb and t/b cleaner into it...and soaked up with a rag...and wiped clean. Took the plugs out and regapped them to about.047-.048. Buttoned it all back up..and went for a ride..didnt seem to do what is was doing before i did what i did...lol...im lookin into getting msd's 8.5 wires....maybe ill regap the plugs after i get them...but $85 for the set seemed kinda pricey...OHH yea...when doing the plugs i bumped into the left side heat shield...and it seemed loose....went to grab it and came off in my hands..seems the studs broke off..should i look into fixing/rplacing this..or you think it'll be ok without??...Thanks for everything larry

Jeff
