Message: I know the firing order of the 3.9 but does anybody know the angle between each cylinder fire?
It's an odd fire V6 but haven't found the exact angle between each one.

Message: it's an even fire v6 that fires every 120 degrees of crankshaft rotation.

Message: NOT! Did ya try the math on that? 6 cylinders, 4 cycles, 120 degrees? That doesn't add up.
The crankpins are split, and offset by 22 degrees. This results in firing intervals that alternate between 128 degrees and 112 degrees.

Message: crank 120 X 3 = 360
360 degrees is a full circle where did you learn
mathmatics
60 degree dist rotaition for each cyl
60 X 6 = 360 again a full circle or 720 degrees
rotation for all 6 cyls to fire 4 stroke

Just like a CIRCLE. That would be 360 degrees for that unmathamacated peep.

Message: Yes, THAT adds up, but as I have already explained, the 3.9 is not set up as an even-fire system, thus, 120-720 does not add up. This is usually attributed to the misnomer that the 3.9 is simply a 5.2 with 2 cylinders lopped off....it isn't that simple. If one can imagine lopping off the front half of the forward cylinders of the 5.2, and the trailing half of the rear cylinders, then offsetting the crank and re-forming the cylinders on the new center, you have the 3.9. This is why it's an odd fire set-up.
