Message: Is it true that the o2 sensor doesn't work unless the egr system works because I have an 87 and I tried to trace the o2 sensor line and it looked like it went to some part of the egr system. I'm lost Please help me!

Message: NO, this is not true. The EGR and CVSCC (Coolant Vacuum Switch Cold Closed valve) work together. When the coolant warms up, the CVSCC valve opens, and this allows vacuum to act on the EGR valve.

Message: so if I get an new o2 sensor will it work because My truck is burning to much gas!! the sensor looks bad and I want to replace it!

Message: As soon as the motor reaches between 125 and 150
degrees the o2 will start adjusting air fuel ratio
and after that the comp looks for at least a 170
degree temp, if it does not see that temp in a
certian amount of time than it will go into what
is called a limp mode and run off default tables.
Replace the o2 the egr will not effect the
operation of the o2 once the temp is reached
