Subject: No CAT, Need Inspection!!
IP: Logged

Message:
After my cat started breaking up, I ran pipe in the place of it. This was about a year ago and I know that the O2 sensor is bad, but now i've got a prob. My state has just started the emissions testing. My inspection comes up next month and the way it is now is not going to pass. I left the stock muffler on but want to change it too. Anybody know if those O2 bypass boxes will pass an emissions test? If so, how can I get one. If not, what cat to choose? I would like to go with a high flow, but want to make sure it will pass. Also looking to put a new muffler on. Let me know your thoughts, what to buy, and what to expect?

Are you using this O2 bypass box because of your lack of a cat?
You realize you will fail the visual for not having a cat. Not to
mention what that cat does to clean up what they sniff coming
out of your tailpipe. They will be looking to make sure the MIL
light is not on either and they will shut off and restart your truck
to make sure you just didn't clear out any codes. You could see
if you can just get an unofficial test done to see how your truck
will peform. They have that don't pass don't pay thing out here
in California which is very popular maybe you have that too.
