Message: Yes, the more boost that you run, the harder it is on the engine. Proper intercooling allows you to run an additional 1-2psi boost with the same octane gas, compression ratio etc. So theoretically if you can safely run 6psi boost without an intercooler, then 8psi intercooled would also be safe. The adjustablility there is for the person that wants to have moderate boost, 6psi, for daily driving, and then kick it up to 8psi for drag racing. This allows the owner to extend the life of his engine, too.
350hp might be a little high, but we will know for sure once we have completed testing. As soon as we know, you will know.
I'd be glad to answer any other questions that you may have.
Thanks,
Tom North

Message: I'm guessing that 330hp should be attainable on a stock 3.9L, running 8psi boost, intercooled; BUT, DO NOT quote me on that. As for torque, I don't have any calcs done, but I'd say it will be substancially more.
I can say that you will not be disappointed by the performance a turbocharger system will add to you Dakota.

Message: one more thing
if I think that I might get a turbo what upgrades should/can I do first. I know some superchargers come with ignition stuff. Also will jet 2 also not work with turbo. Should I get a Flowmetrics TB and 1.7 roller rockers. Did I leave anything out?

Message: I'd maybe think about getting the larger throttle body, but I'd probably wait on anything else. As for the Jet 2, I do not know at this time whether or not it will work well with the turbo setup.
Thanks,
Tom North
