I have been looking into rebuild kits, shift kits etc. My truck will move in low and reverse, but man is it ever rough and loud. Before this started happening it dropped out of OD on the highway. I babied it home at 45 mph, all it could do. Anyway it moves but is extreamly rough and is making a deep whinning noise. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

get it rebuilt i just got my 93 rebuilt they put in a shift kit runs better then it ever did but now my cluster lights and all parking lights dont workso im in the process of fixing that a word of advice leave the tranny to the pros

I was just told that it sounded like the torque converter was shot. I was still recomended to rebuild and be sure to replace the TC.
