Message: Do the 3.9 Magnums have one or two cams?
I am thinking just one because of the timing chain.
How hard would it be to change out? How do you make sure its lined up exactly right? Do you need a special tool?
So, our Dakotas have pushrods?
How about the 4.7 and 5.7 hemi?
Sorry about the lack of knowledge. I am just now getting into automobiles again. I have never really worked with new cars anyways.
I barely remember putting a cam in a old 302 Mustang. But I forgot how my dad lined it up and everything. Or, how perfect it had to be.

Message: I have a 1990 2wd dakota ex-cab. I tow an 1100lb trailer so am looking for some more power(nothing crazy just a little more help when towing). Am considering having heads get 3 angle valve job/mild porting etc as well as install of new camshaft.
Larry from J&J-any suggestions for camshafts? specs? am considering her9204al/her0814al from Hughes Engines? What is a realistic HP gain with the above mods?
Thanks and have a great day!
