Subject: ? 4 LARRY..... IP: Logged
Message: Hey Larry, I want to make sure that I gave my friend the right answer.
He did the IAT relocate (99 V6) and wasn't sure of his wire splicing/connection. I told him that if the wires were not spliced correctly(open circuit) than the "check engine" light would come on.
Is this correct? Or would it just store a code without the "check engine" coming on?
I'm pretty sure the light would illuminate so I hope I told him correct!
Thanks,
Darryl

Message: It does not mater which wire goes to which side
it will still read the resistance that changes
with heat.
IAT is just a varible resistor that changes
resistance with heat to change the voltage the
comp reads 1 to 4.8 volts over or under will
throw a code
