Subject: 94 3.9 won,t start IP: Logged
Message: 1994 dakota with 3.9 v-6. it will crank and turn over but it will not fire. i have changed spark computer, coil, crank sensor, coil wire, hall pick-up,relays, and checked all fuses. removing coil wire from dist. ground out with punch and seen no spark. i don't know if auto shut down realy circuit has anything to do with it. i need to know what supplies the coil with power. it seems that no power is going to coil. i checked both fusible links on the left fender.

Message: Power for your coil comes from the pcm. Do you have power from the auto shutdown relay, or power into the pcm? Both are red wires with a white stripe. Not to drag up an old post but...

This could be a contributing factor. It sounds like you have spent a lot of money on parts, but it might be time to trace back the power supply circuit from the coil all the way back to the battery.

Message: Try looking at the rotor, they can sometimes get banged up or corroded when I had my 94 it was the first thing I replaced and it looked horrid. Just an option, a 3.00 one at that.
