Where the steering column passes thru the firewall, is there a bushing? Should there be any up and down movement of the steering column?
On my truck if I push up and down on the steering wheel there is movement in column. There is a black plate with 3 bolts holding it to the firewall, and the column moves up and down in this plate. It dosen't move in and out, just up and down
Does this movement tell me I have a problem, and if so, what do I have to do to fix it?
My truck is a '96 Sport with automatic and power steering. If it matters, it also has a 3.9 V6.
