Subject: Clunking Noise IP: Logged
Message: I have a 96 3.9 v6 and i have never had any problems with it but lately it has been making some funny noises. Sometimes when I put it into reverse it moves the whole truck and makes a loud sound also some times when i slow down or go over bumps i hear loud clunking or poping noise. Im not sure but i think it may be a transmission mount or a ball joint im not sure... please help!

Message: If you have a limited slip rearend you may just need to change the fluid and add a bottle of friction modifier. When the LS get dirty fluid they can make a lot of noise.
