As far as the V-6..Exhaust Should be on the end of your power list..
need more air in 1st...
Have heard good things bout the Dynomax 17448 (i think)I'm running a Bullet mufflerWith no cat.
But the first thing would be more air in..
Get a V-8 TB(throttle body) might just need to change out the cable 28-35$
then a good Ignition systemMSD
Good luck.....

OK...i'm definitely not an expert...Just have a question

Wouldnt the exhaust be a logical first choice? I'm thinkin that even if you do have more air in, it's gotta have a place to escape to, and a good exhaust system would provide higher flow. If you can get a good turbo muffler to suck whatever the stock setup's gettin you, then when you do the V8 tb, you'll see the real improvement. Also, if you had just more air coming in and a better air/fuel mixture, wouldn't the 02, or computer read back and forth from rich to lean, rich to lean?

I fully expect someone to correct me here...I just wanna learn

The exhaust is fairly good (but can be improved). The best hp gain is on the intake side. Intake (td, air intake and filter) side won't set you back too bad and you will feel the change. For a small amount of money that you can invest for improvements, this is the most bang for the buck. Headers was the last thing I added. If you want to spend a good bit of change, go for rear end gears and lsd. That will wake your truck up like you wouldn't beleive. But it will cost more. It's kind of; set an amount to spend and then see what you can accomplish with it. Good luck.

The o2 on any vehicle does what is called a
flip flop switching from high to low volts

rich center lean rich center lean

If its not its shot and needs to be replaced.

The reason you do the exh last is you will lose
low end when you drop the backpresure down on the
V6

Once the intake side is upgraded you will have the
flow needed to keep the presure up and than you
will see the gains of a free flowing exh

JBA headers, carsound high flow cat and a dynomax
or flowmaster and a single 2.5 tail show the best
power on every dyno run I have seen and is what I
run on my stroked and ported motor. Why would a
stock motor need a bigger exhaust system

Unless you have a turbo or S/C there is no need
to go any bigger
