Bed liner, towing pkg, alloy wheels, wide off road tires, 4 wheel abs. Looks really nice. Just wondering your opinions on 98's like this and is $9895.00 a good price? Thanks

Message: Yeah i did that. It came out to about $10,000. I was kinda just looking for personal (yet professional) opinions. Maybe like downfalls to 98's that arent advertised?

Message: That's not true. Just don't expect to be able to tow too much and don't expect it to drive like a sports car. IMHO towing heavy loads in a 4x4 is way too hard on the drive train anyway.
One thing about buying a used 4x4 anything. It's easy to really mess up the t-case and it's expensive to fix. I think it's fair to say that many folks don't know how or when to properly use the 4WD. I'd take it to a good independent mechanic and have it checked over. At the price you would be paying your only $105.00 short of $10,000 so the truck should be in very good to excellent shape both mechanically and appearence wise.
Don't be afraid to walk away because a 4x4 that's been rode hard and put away wet can be a really dicey proposition. Also, have the lower and upper ball joints checked out. My 97 4x4 ate lowers like they were gummy bears. Ball joints are a weak point on G3 Dakotas.
Remember there's always a better deal somewhere so don't be afraid to walk. It's not like there's a shortage of used Dakotas.
