it's in the TB bore, right above the throttle blades. you'll see it. mark where the blades are when they are closed. take out the shaft and blades and use a dremel. don't go below your marks or it will be ruined.

U dont have to remove the blades or the shaft, just use the Dremel to cut the tq step out when U get done just spray it down with brake/carb cleaner to get rid of the dust

Mike, obviously I'm not Larry, but I think I remember him saying awhile back not to do that to the v8 bodies on a v6 b/c it was too much and you lost some of the gains. I think it was for modified v6 bodies. Anyway, I'll let him answer because he has been through it before.
(assuming you have a v8TB)

no i don't think i'm larry. i don't have that kind of experience. i thought i could give some advice back since i have taken some from this site. i guess i was wrong. IMO i would remove the shaft just in case. one slip is all it takes to ruin the throttle blades.

a dremel is a hand held grinder for small jobs...

If you dont know much about em... you can really damage whatever part you are working on. I would stay away from the torque step and worry more about the airhorns and smoothing the throttle body from the top to the bores and knife edging between the bores. After that... just polish it up a bit.

Here is a thread that has pics and tells you how
to do it

http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/v6/6100.html

Mikes94 took the V8 body off and is running his
stock V6 body

When you look straight down the top you will see
the casting is out farther than the actualy
throttle plate size those are what you want to
remove

you can do it without pulling the plates and shaft
just stay above the plate bore, torque step
casting is rough and you can see the machined
surface just below the step

If you have the V8 body DON"T MOD IT,

a true 50mm is to much for the V6 in stock form.

What you can do is just polish it up with 500 sand
paper than steel wool, just the upper part don't
touch the bores near the throttle plates.

Actualy with the V8 body you don't need to do
anything they flow 635 cfm just the way they are
a 48mm F&B is 660

I thought you went back to the V6 body

Nah I haven't but im going to measure the intake bores and see if the bores on the v6 one is the same if so then i will be selling my v8 tb and cable if not then i will keep the v8 tb but so far it hasnt done much....although a couple of time i beg to differ although i cant feel a difference but i raced my friends 95 4.3 s10 and he can vouch for it and i usually lose to him to 60 by a truck length but we raced twice and he never got more than a FOOT in front of me....dead even race all the way...untill after 70 then i pull extremely slow on him....hes pissed!

Its the V8 body they improve the top end a lot
on the V6.

Yes mesure your stock body from the bottom by the
throttle plates

42 = 1.653
44 = 1.732
46 = 1.811

48 which is the size of the step in the V8 body
mesures 1.889 and the 50mm plates are 1.968

A dial calipers works grat for this maybe your dad
has one to mesure with
