Not quite sure what the deal is,
i am pretty sure that it creates more drag
when taken off, but how much does it weigh?
Would it be better or worse to take it off
at the track or leave it on and in the up
position.
Is it true for every 100lbs you shed you get
liike 10hp? Or was it every 100lbs you shed
you get 1?
any input would be great

As far as the question, I know there is less drag with the tailgate up instead of down. Wind tunnel test proved that.
But I don't know about the weight issue.
And sorry that there are people who post here with sh.t for brains like "search". LOL

I did use the search function, and i have a idea of who "search" is. One because they use the word troll all the time, and two, they just posted a (OT) topic on this board.
Any ways, i read threw old post and have yet
to find anything about the weight issue.
I understand that it creates more drag
when down and off, but what about the weight.
That topic has not been discussed.

Troll is a popular word on message boards...and if you're suggesting that it's me, e-mail Mark and ask him to compare my IP with the troll's. It ain't me. That and if it were me, why would I have just paid 30 bucks to register to get away from the troll who kept posting with my name and email address?

this may have nothing to do with it but um all the salt flat trucks run withthe tailgait up and lot of them use 3/4 of a tonneau cover. white is right every 100 lbs is a tenth of a sec. keepin the tail gait on may help for getting out of the hole, alittle extra weight in the back would help for the hole shot.
