Message: no second cat is needed. if the kit is a 3inch kit u will lose lowend and not really gain alot in top end. the truck benifit the most from just swappin out the muffler. if ya want dual exhaust just make sure the muffler u get is a 2 1/2 inch inlet and dual 2 1/2 outlets hooker makes a muffler that has those specs i duno of any other companys other then magnaflow but i greatly dislike the magnaflow sound. anyways the muffler is the aerochamber from hooker...have fun

Message: I have a question for you. I have a three inch stock pipe on my 93 and I want to put an after market muffler single inlet dual outlet on it, will I lose power due to the decrease in back pressure from the new muffler? And what would you reccomend putting on?

Message: Be careful! You will see many posts (look for ones by Larry since he knows what he talking about) that discuss how sensitive the V6 is to loss of backpressure and the loss of bottom end power.
I have a 2.5 in, dual 2.25 out flowmaster delta 50, duals all the way back. I some lost bottom end. I called flowmaster and they said that I should have installed a dual 2" out, if I leave the intake stock (ei stock TB & 1.6 stock rockers). They said when I improve the intake, by going to bigger TB and 1.7 rockers, the low end will come back. I'm no expert, I can say that I experienced a loss in low end with dual 2.25 out. Sounds nice, looks nice, but kinda flat on the low end.
I think I've seen Larry write "no cat back system necessary, just buy a quality muffler 2.5 in, 2.5 out." If I was going to do it again, that's what I'd do.

Message: I have a 2.5 in and two 2.5 out gibson muffler on mine. I didn't notice any low end loss. It is extremely loud inside the cab (my wife doesn't like to ride in it :). It seems to have about the same low end and better mid to high end.

Message: I just installed a gibson dual cat-back on my 03 v-6....very easy kit to install...it's somewhat loud inside the cab mostly about 2000-2500 rpm...my kit came with the stainless steel tips and looks great...all together i think its one of the better sounding kits for the v-6 (does not sound like a rice-burner)...cost me about $325....by the way its 2 1/2 in and 2 1/2 dual outlets and pipes.

Message: i have the gibson dual outlet pipes.. its a nice exhaust. wish i would have found this site sooner and bought just a muffler(would have saved a ton) but for stainless steel setup it ran me about 500.. sounds nice though.. a little ricey but its a v6 gonna happen a bit. loud though.. if u mind a little cab noise go for it..will lose some low end i know i did.. but u will gain some power in the mid upper. my truck pulls hard once it gets into the upper power bands.
