Message: Well, I'm not the expert(will leave that for Larry) but I'd have to say definitely too rich of a burn. I think a tan color is what its supposed to be on the tips. Is something causing your truck to run too rich?

Message: Way to rich,
check your IAT engine temp and o2 sensor something
is throwing you way to rich.
If you relocated the IAT and its cold out that
will also do that as I said some trucks do not
react well to the IAT relocate.
They should be tan, or the 23's are just to cold
That about covers what it could be
Oh tazzy that looks like an AP don't you have an
MSD set up coil and box if so gap at .060
You defenitly have a problem there you need to
solve, I bet your gas mileage is also crap

My IAT is in the stock location..
Yes an AP plug..was @ .060
I just installed a set of 5224's
I dont get any code..
How would I check the IAT and O2 for proper use..
resistance readings ect...
looking back on my dyno sheet..mix was 12.6 at 4400 rpm
was never above 14.0
I do have the superchips program but should it run this rich?

Message: No it should not be running that rich you have a
bad sensor there
IAT
put the word " table " in the search on this site and
you will find tables to temp chart
Engine temp sensor same tables
o2 do you have a autozone near by they can check
your upstream o2 it should do a flip flop changing
from like .13 to .93 .1 to 1 volt and keep doing
it while in closed loop
at the same time they can monitor your IAT and
engine temp sensor, if thats bad and reading
cold it will run rich never go into closed loop
and in open loop the o2 is not read

I had a simm installed for my aft O2 sensor..
But the Dyno run was before that..

just tells the comp the cat is working.
could have something to do with your sim

4.5 sounds like wrong scale on your ohm meter
was the truck still cooling down 4.5 would be
over 100 degrees if not and reading 100 when
cold in 60 degree weather its bad

The Simm was installed after the Dyno run..
It's a small radioShack meter..Digital..
Getting a new IAT tommorrow..
Humm..After running to Auto zone..
eng up to temp..I get 16,460 ohms

Message: Man, if everything checks out go up one heat range.
To bypass the IAC find a nice stretch of highway and do a full throttle run. Will go into open loop and bypass most sensors. Just shut down at the end of the run, put in nuetral and shut the motor down and do a quick plug reading.
Would be interesting to see the plug reading then. And by the way, that is one huge flat spot on the dyno run and I think you r correct about the rich spot.

Message: All that means is your throttle plates are set to
the same as idle and the IAC is only back 1 step
open very little to maintain speed.
If you were reading 16,460 ohms when warm that is
telling the comp the incoming air is around 55
degrees that would make you run very rich and may
also from adding more fuel the motor is running
faster causing the IAC to only open 1 step.
I think you should replace both sensors the engine
temp sensor also is reading cold from the way it
looks and would also make you run rich worth the
$6 they cost.
Those 2 sensors would explain the rich run and
the IAC at 1 step
