Message: I have a 1989 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with a 3.9 v6. It has just under 100,000 miles but runs perfect. The rest of the truck is in bad shape.
I also have a 1992 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with a 3.9 v6. I think its a magnum. But the truck is in great shape except for the engine. So I wanted to swap the 1989 v6 into the 1992 Dakota. Im wondering if this is possible. And what will I need to do to make it work.
Im 16 and its my first vehicle so i dont have a lot to spend, but i do have an available shop to do anywork that is needed.

Message: Sorry i forgot to say that both the trucks are automatics. The 1989 Dakota has the A-500 loadflite 3-speed with overdrive. I know that the 1992 has overdrive also. I hope this helps.

Message: Not a good swap with your age and limited budget.
If I were you I would try and sell the 89 and use that money for the 92, the 92 is a way better platform to start with provided you keep its stock engine and not the 89 TBI engine..
Good luck
