Subject: My 3.9L V6 stalls at about 45-60 mph IP: Logged
Message: I have an '88 3.9L 4X2, I got this car about a year ago. Since I have done quite a bit of work to the old DAK. This problem only started after the cold weather started, I was going down the highway at around 60mph. So I slowed to 55, then it started at this speed, slowed down more, and so on. I couldn't go over 35mph when I pulled it into the drive. PLEASE HELP!

Message: Sounds like a pluged fuel filter
Check the presure the TBI should have 14 to 15
pounds
Change the filter and see what happens the TBI
also has an electric fuel pump that may be going
bad but start with the easy stuff first

Message: J@J are correct the other thing you can try is putting a couple cans of gas line anti-freeze in you're tank THEN replace the filter. P.S. make sure it's the stuff in the red bottle it's meant for foolish injection.lol

Message: I don't know about the '88, because mine's a '97, but mine had the same exact symptoms. Mine turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor. I had replaced the throw out bearing, and I suppose they packed it with too much grease, anyway, put a new one in, and it's been running right ever since. Aaron
