Subject: battery? lights don't dim? IP: Logged
Message: My Dakota will rarely start now but the battery, alternator, and starter all seem to be fine.
There's a 'click' like a dead battery when I start the ignition but no dim lights.
The connections seem okay but the positive pole of the battery did have some corrosion. Can it just be this?

Message: Could be clean all the connections
The starters in these trucks are also known to
develop flat spots, next time it does it just tap
the starter with a hammer while someone holds the
key in the start position and see if it than turns
over.
If so replace the starter
Also check the connections right on the starter
and related cables, ground side

Message: Hmmm, Thank you for the reply. I hope it's just connections but I fear the starter is acting weird.
