 Subject: How to know if fan clutch is bad

Just wondering, How will I know if my fan clutch is bad? The fan runs even if the engine is cold. I havent really paid that much attention to it in the past. Either way, I will be replacing it soon with the Black Magic 150.

Mine started squeaking, dealer replaced in about 45 min.
