I know that on older model cars, you always see little filters sitting on the valve covers. On our dak's they go into the intake. Is there any kind of performance gain with the filters? I would like to know, because I put some immatation K&N's on them. I thought it looked bad, but I don't think they really filter much. Could it hurt the motor if the filters got cloged up?

It would just cause oil pressure "not engine oil pressure" or rather oil vapor and vacum pressures not to be right. In other words you might have slight oil vapors going out through PCV into your intake on higher revs.
