k the 4.0 i have in my ranger is the most unreliable gas sucking pos ive ever owned. i had another ranger before this with the 4.0 and it was fine so im thinking maybe its just this truck. Im sick of looking at a rangers interior im just bored with rangers in general. I know tons about them and im looking to get something a lil bigger. Im thinking about going with a r/c dakota with the 3.9 and 2wd. what kinda gas milage am i looking at. is it that much more than the 4.7?? Im done with ford and im gonna try dodge before i go like the rest of my family and go gm

I had a 3.0 Ranger hand me my a$$ one night, dont get teh 3.9 its a dog, get a 4.7 5 spd.

Really then my truck must b real fed up cause i have the 4.0 ranger n its slooowww. i dont really want another stick shift truck. theres no way the 3.9 can be that slow and plus im not really lookin for speed i do tow a 3,000# trailer alot my truck handles that just fine and the torque ratings are the same on both trucks. Stoping sucks though the brakes on this thing suck. Im really just looking for a v6 truck that gets better mpg's than mine and isnt a ranger
