Subject: 01 Dakota Stall problems IP: Logged
Message: My truck starts at first then the rpms go down to 0. I start the truck back up again and I cant. I try a third time while pressing the gas and it starts up and i keep the engine reved up for like a couple of minutes and its fine. I want to prevent this problem from occuring again any help would be appreciated. I also filled the thing wit gas saturday the 17th and i just had to fill it again today the 22nd and now i think i got milage problems. I would like help wit this too.

Message: What engine do you have and how many miles on it. The IAC idle air controller on the back side of the throttle body may be sticking. It needs to be removed and cleaned with carb cleaner, just get black carbon build up off the shaft. It's a faily common problem on the 3.9 v6 daks. You might want to use the search function for IAC or Throttlebody cleaning. I know Larry from J and J Auto has posted pictures with showing the location of the all sensors and their function.

Message: I got a 3.9 V6 wit 16000 miles on it. Thats what I thought.
