Subject: Headers are in!!!! IP: Logged
Message: I just got my headers installed along with a Flowmaster 40. It is sweet that is all I got to say. I love the sound I love the look of the headers. There are the Stanless/Copper ones. engine bay was slightly warmer but nothing bad. I will have pictures up tomarrow for you guys to look at. Next mod will be either a new cat or Homebrew intake. Most likly the later of the two b/c of cost. Other then that. Hope this will help some one else choose to or not to do headers.

Message: Would love to get headers. And lots of other things too. My problem is cash flow. More flows out than in.

Message: Go with a carsound beleave it or not it gave my
truck a deeper tone.
The catco's give a bad rotton egg smell
I ran with no cat for 2 years but got tired of the
EGR code poping up all the time the little extra
back presure did not hurt my perf in any way as
I thought it would on my stroked and ported motor
my last dyno run was with the cat.
The 92 mopar pcm the plugs at .060 F&B over the
fastman and the new cat I picked up 20 hp over
the ASE chip and the plugs at .045 or .050 don't
remember what they were at. One of the 2 I was
still experimenting

Message: Those aren't JBA headers are they... They almost don't look like JBA's??? How much did that set cost you if you don't mind me asking that is :)) After seeing actual pics, I don't really see what would be so hard about making my own now... Anyone know exactly how hard it would be to make your own headers for the V6???

Message: yeah those are real JBA Headers not cromed like you can tell. Just the Stainles/copper. They actually have a plate mounted to them on the driver side of the JBA logo and the emmission standards. I thinkt that lil plate looks badass myself. but that is just me. The lil things count. They were 372 for the set and all the bolts and gasket. I think the challange in making them would be the strength of em. they were pritty heavy.
Oh yeah amd installed on my rusted engine was 220 for the removal and replacement of the manifolds and another 50 b/c they had to drill and retap a stud. After the labor and a Flow 40 series the whole install deal was 459 plus the 372 for the headers. So it deffinately hurt the wallet of this college student but I wanted to make this truck performance b/c it is only a V6.

Message: Well are the chrome ones the ones that cost $800.00... The last site I looked at with the JBA's wanted $800.00 for theirs... I thought that was a little high for something fairly simple:// I may go ahead and get the real thing since it's only $372.00...
Anywhere got them for less than that???
Yeh I see the little logo after you pointed it out to me :))

You peaked my curiousity, when did you switch to the 92 mopar pcm and from the fastman to the F&B?
When was last dyno run? If I remember right your last run was a rear-wheel horsepower of 267, has it gone up from there?

Message: Truckperformance.com has nickel coated JBA headers for $372 and ceramic coated JBA's for $526. When I bought mine I did a fairly extensive web search and most of the prices were about the same.

Message: I posted before I looked closely at Tazzy's link. Even if that does'nt include shipping that may be the place to go. Like I said every other site I could find was either the same or more than the prices I posted.
