1. What's your Dak's vitals, (if not listed in your profile/signature)?
2. How long you had it, story & how you use it/what for, etc.?
3. What have you done for mod's, (again, if not listed in your profile/signature)?
4. Where have you found best place for parts, and info?
5. What, if any, other plans do you have for your Dak?
6. Do you have pictures posted somewhere, or can you put one/some in your reply?
7. Lastly, what state and vicinity do you live in?
(Feel free to add any other questions you'd like)

Message: Vern, Thanks so much for replying.
I was curious to see how many of us Gen1 people there are on the forum, who they are and the mods done to these pre-mags.
Hopefully some of them will reply eventually. Plus, I wanted to see if anyone lived anywhere close by me.
What year TB did you get and what is a good choice? I know I should probably mod the engine up before putting a bigger or modded TB on it. What do you think on this. I was also wondering about magnum heads. Would they work on our motors and be of any gain? I haven't really seen any post on the subject. What about the shift kits?
I defiantly want to mod it up some. I think I'd be happy if it ran at least ran as good as the 3.3 in my 97 Caravan Sport. That van has sure surprised a lot of people and I love the way it runs. Still not a big block, but it does the trick. I'd really like to put a bigger engine in the Dak, but with the miles I drive in a year, MPG has to be considered at least a little bit.
If you don't mind my asking...
What suggestions and what order do you think I should mod it in? Larry has given me a couple ideas, like a good K&N drop in or a air hat off a 97 or later or even how to make a cold air intake if I want to go that route.
Another question, I was looking at the K&N duel oil filter set ups, specially would like to do this since our trucks only hold 4 quarts & I hate that little filter on them, just don't seem good enough to me. Looks like I could find the room for the duel set up. Do you think it would benefit by it. I am a stickler for changing oil regularly, so I guess that's not really a big issue.
Okay, that's all I'll bombard you with for now. Just think, I came to this post to do my answers to the questions. Lucky you, right, LOL.
Thank you much!!
Diane

Just got beginning of Dec. 1st Dakota I have owned, but have wanted one since they came out. Just wasn't feasible then with raising 3 boys. Got it on eBay Motors, no picture and only a slight description. Had to email my questions, but I knew when I first spotted it on ebay, it was my truck. 109024 on the speedo when we picked it up in Ohio, drove it home.
A everyday driver, work truck and for playing in.
Only mod's so far: Flowmaster Deltaflow 40 Series. Cat was clogged and has been removed. Accel wires. Rest is exterior mod's, 31x10.50 tires on 12 x 8 Amer. Racing White Spokes Wheels with Chrome center caps, which were a Christmas present, nice white and meaty. Removed the factory running boards and tented rear and side windows. I went with the two tone and it's really dark. Great during the day, but kinda sucks at night, might remove from sides. Vent Visors and taillight covers ordered, but not here yet.
Engine Mod's hopefully starting soon.
Summit Racing, moparperformance.com, books4cars.com, my friendly Mopar dealer, Stylin' Concepts, Jegs, and eBay
Best info...where else!
The profile picture was taken right after I got it, which will be replaced with one like the thumbnail when it warms up out and I clean him up.

That is a sharp looking Dak. Looks like it belongs in the showroom for sure. Loved your pictures. Liked Scruffy too. I have a cat named Scruffy (was it you who said you hate cats?) and when I played hockey, I named the tournament team I put together the She Devils, our logo was Taz of coarse. Taz is so cool! So, we have at least three loves in common(Love of Daks, love of Taz and love of a pet named Scruffy), LOL.
Now I'm curious about the text you lost. I hate when that happens and it's happened several times since I joined. Now I write my posts in my email program and copy & paste it back here. I usually always have outlook open anyway when I'm on the net so it seemed pretty logical to me to do it that way. I just keep a new message open the whole time and if I want to reply to something I write it there first. It's real handy.
Thanks again for letting me look at your pictures, I really enjoyed it. Describe what Dyno is to me some time, I've seen you guys talking about it and am curious what it entails.
Take Care

V6 5spd 4x4
I just bought it 2nd week of December. It was a mess but it looked cool. It has 31-10.50s on it. All black with chrome rims and red interior. So far I've redone all the 4x4 vacuum lines, replaced the u-joint after I dropped the driveshaft on I-5, and installed a system (the only custom thing so far). Plans call for a 3inch body lift and (get ready for very insane idea) a 426 HEMI (in my dreams). Sorry I dont have pics. Im in Washington state. The only problem I got now is a bad clutch and transfercase. When I pick up on the rear driveshaft it moves up and down in the transfercase. Ill fix it when sell my camaro.

I didn't think your Hemi idea was funny, I dream the same dream, but it includes thoughts of a 440 magnum. LOL
You should make a new post to your problem, so you'll get some feedback and help on it, that is if you haven't already and search is good to. I'm not getting a lot of response to this thread, but hope to over time.
I am also considering a 3" lift on mine, have same tire's as you, need a bit more clearance in the front and don't really want to shave anymore off the wells.
I look forward to seeing a pic of your truck.
