Subject: 160 degree t-stat?

Message:
I just purchased a bunch of performance parts for my 'kota, including a jet stage 2 module which jet recommends a 180 deg. t-stat. Well I purchased a 160 deg t-stat made by hypertech. Will thiss help performance or hurt it. Should I go with the 180?

Stick with the 180. The 160 t'stats can trip the check engine light due to a "Engine too cold for too long" check in the PCM.

The Magnum engines run best at 180-185 anyway.
