How do you come to the conclusion that $270 shipped is the normal group price?
I contacted a bunch of vendors, and none was lower than $289.

Message: I have seen 2 other group buys at this price and just assumed it was the lowest anyone was willing to go. I have no clue who you are dealing with but that is what I paid for mine now that I have gone back to look but I remember a certain number had to be sold to get that price. No biggie.
It is a great price you got. That is all that matters. Even if I paid full price I would be totally satisfied with it.

I thought that Superchips itself would tell you who the best vendor is to deal with on a group buy or who sells the most from one of my conversations with them. He asked me who was doing the group buy and I told him and he seemed to agree the price was the best he has heard the for.
