Message: Thanks for your past input on everything, hope everything is going great for you. I have one question. Would a custom cam (I know KRC makes one, the KRC 200) or the 1.7 roller rockers be a better option? I don't know which one would be better to go with.

Message: The 1.7's are a lot easier and faster to install
than a cam and the increse is about the same
1.7's about 18 hp
KRC 200 cam about 20 hp
If you go with the cam you need to stay with the
1.6 ratio stock rockers or the crower 1.6 rollers
The KRC 200 cam will give you just a little better
low end but not much and you should also replace
the timing chain and add the tensioner with the
cam change. another $150 for all the parts so the
cam costing aroud $500 and your labor verses the
1.7's around $380
The work involved I just have to say the 1.7's is
the best way to go you will notice the increse
from 1800 on up right were a guy wants it to
be better mid and top end performance with a lot
less labor involved.
If you were rebuilding the engine than I would say
cam but there are a lot better cams than the KRC
200 made by Hughes Engines, they actualy make a
cam that is vertualy identical to my custom cam
268/272 .480 lift with the 1'7's and a 44 degree
overlap
The KRC cam is a low end power cam RV Towing
That's just my opinion

Message: I already have a new timing chain and tensioner on there. So the 1.7 roller rockers are a better choice, I thank you for you time, I agree with you. If you have any other suggestions they will be a help.
