Subject: Buzzing Noise in Dash
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a new 03 Crew Cab. 2500 miles. Around 2000 miles a buzzing noise in the dash, near the windshield area, can be heard when the truck is cold. The noise is most prevelant when idling however I have heard it thoughout the speed range. Occasionally the noise can be heard when its warm. I returned it to the dealer who said the noise is normal and its being generated by something in the intake air horn area. The noise even continues very briefly after turning off the key; kind of like its winding down. I feel its a dash or vacuum noise that originates somewhere in the dash behind the brake booster. Vitals: 3.9 V6, 4x4, auto. Any thoughts???

I was planning on bringing my 03 sxt back to the dealer for a whistling in the dash when it is cold out. I'll post back if I learn anything about it. The noise drives me crazy. It seems to go away after the inside of the cab warms up.

Thanks for the reply Jared. I'll take it by the lack of responses that buzzing (or whistling) in the cab, is not normal. I'm going to break out the stethiscope and poke around for the problem. We may very well have the same problem but with a differnt noise being generated.....I'm curious what you find out.
