Message: Not withstanding the poor spelling =) I asked this same
question here and on another board. I received a bit more
info on the other board but, the general opinion is that
the Dynomax Super Turbo produced one of the smoothest
mellowest sounds. I'm considering it for my Quad Dak. the
system is a 2.5" to 3" pipe to the Super Turbo muffler,
then 3" following the OEM plumbing to a passenger side
exit.

Message: Dude, I have a 40 series original Flow Master on my V6 Dakota. It gave it a nice tone. It doesn't sound like a 4 banger at all, if anything it has the same sorta rumble that the 5.2 has because of the simaleraties (please forgive spelling) the two have. I have gained 2.5 mpg highway and city and I can finaly bark the tires off the line...that with the breather on it as well.

Message: Okay, Im in the same position. I hear everyone says there all loud, but without a favored opinion what muffler can i get the deepest and loudest sound on the outside and not to loud on the inside, and still keep 2.5 in and 2.5 single out. Its between Dynomax, flowmaster, or Gibson.

Message: Dynomax 17748 or the flowmaster 50 series they
both sound about the same with the flowmaster
being just a little deeper.
The 40 series will blow you out of the cab.
I always recomend the dynomax 2.5 in out with a
single tail shows the best power on every dyno run
I have seen on the V6's unless your blown or turbo
charged than 3" is better.
I run the dynomax 17748 carsound cat 2.5 single
tail and I am stroked ported and a 268 272 cam
with a .480 lift 44 degree overlap and it runs
good why would you need to go bigger on a stock
motor is behond me.
Last dyno 267/305 14.4 @ 94 1/4 mile
$6000 invested in this motor, speed cost money

Message: I know they're expensive, but you may want to check out a Borla muffler too. The right ones can sound deeper than many other brands of mufflers.
I have a Dynomax and I would recommend it for this truck without hesitation. Quiet on the inside. You, the driver, knows that it's there because you drive it all the time and know how it sounds. Many people who ride in my truck don't know until I tell them (or I hit the gas or go up a hill).

Message: I put the gibson 1 in 2 out on mine. Its real loud inside. If your looking for quiet inside do not go with the gibson.

Message: 2 weeks ago i ran 40 series flowmaster deltaflow duals out the back of my 03 3.9 dak. 2.5 in. pipes and 3.5 x 18 slash tips. definite rumble and hp gains throughout. not sure on mpg yet. i highly recommend this setup. no 4 banger sound from these babies. more like a v8 sound than a six, and soundin' better everyday.

If you noticed a performance increse your mileage
should be better as long as you keep your foot out
of it.
A better breathing engine will give you better
gas mileage

Message: I just installed this system that I got from JC Whitney. Here is the link"

I installed the one with the stainless angled tips on my 97 V6. It sounds great on the outside and is very quiet in the cab. I would highly recomend this system to anyone and you cant beat the price for a complete cat-back system.
