Message: how about a bigger TB, back up that K&N with a free breathing intake tube, if you put on the chip put on a 180 thermo, gears, headers
you can dump the spacer, it's useless, really

Take some advantage of the hotter spark and get
a set of Autolight AP3923 and gap them at .060
you will feel a very noticeable gain with the
MSD system
Bigger TB and 1.7 crower roller rockers would be
your next mods
After that think about headers and exh not before

Message: I just removed that plastic snorkel from in front of the airbox on my 02 3.9 while I was checking the condition of my K&N unit. I noticed that the back portion of the filter was rather dirty and front was clean. That snorkel I imagine is an intake muffler (new intake noise) and also a feeble attempt to draw cool air from the inner fender ( that was obstructed with a wiring harness) Something happened because the truck does not kick down while climbing the 3 mountain passes I take weekly any more with the cruise on a 74mph
So I would have to say an intake system is restricted from the factory and worthy of your attention like someone stated above.
Then, get on to Larry's post. I have used Crower valvetrain components since '82 without failure.
