Subject: Oxygen sensor location on 93 IP: Logged
Message: I want to replace the precat o2 sensor on my 93 v6. Can somebody tell me where this thing is located before I go and buy a new one? I did a search on this but can't find any posts that seem to help on my year truck. Someone did mention a special socket/tool though that was supposed to make removal of the old one easier....
TIA

Message: Try a Chiltons or Haynes manual, it should walk you through it pretty well.

Message: Budysr....
Check the exhaust pipe approx 9" forward of the cat. You will see the sensor is on the upper side of the pipe.
I changed mine with standard open ended wrench & maybe an adjustable.... The hardest part of the task is the electrical connector - it is located above the tranny.

Message: Just slide the whole connector towards the front
of the truck to remove from clip than unplug.
If the clip does break as mant do just use a
plastic tie strap
There is only 1 o2 on your 93
